No thanks...I won't touch a marker unless it costs more than my car.

I've got one coming in on Monday and was wondering if you have any suggestions on add-ons.
What kind of loader do I need with it? I had one sales guy tell me I needed a Halo B to get the most out of the full auto but that doesn't sound right.
Where's the best place to get a good quality, CHEAP N2 tank for my SP-1. I'd love to get the Smart Parts tank, but it seems to always be over $100.
What do you recommend for a barrel. I'm already interested in the Apex and I thought about the Freak Jr. but I'm looking for a good price on it.

I'm not new to paintball, I've just been out of the game since 2001. A lot has changed and I'm trying to catch up.

I just said that because I really liked that answer.

I've heard they are pretty solid guns. You may have to buy one and let us know what you think!

This may help...

My new SP-1 will be coming in on Monday and I'll be using it at the Xdrenalin Zone field in Grapevine on Saturday the 12th. After that, I'll let you know what I think of it. So far I haven't had anyone who's even tried it say anything but great things. I just wish I was going to have an Apex barrel on it by the 12th...

I don't personally own one, but I have a friend that owns 2 and have played with them. They are solid guns. The boards they are shipping with however do not have the full auto capabilities (at least his did not). From what i hear they will be releasing them shortly. They stock barrel is very nice, he purchased two all american 14" barrels for it. They shot high and left when screwed on tight, so we untwisted it a quarter turn and it is dead on.

Hope this helps.

Frag on,

I just had a chance to unbox my new SP-1 today. I'm a little disappointed that it didn't already have the select fire upgrade. Now I'll have to send it to Smart Parts...but at least it'll be a free upgrade.

So far everything looks good. I'm still trying to decide on a hopper. I want to get the BT Apex, but that will have to wait until I buy my wife her Smart Parts Vibe.

The one thing that really bugs me is that they didn't include any tools. I just realized that my hex wrenches are all metric and this uses American.

I'll put up some pictures as time permits.

I had the chance to use my SP-1 for the first time after getting it back from Smart Parts. Apparently there was a blown O-Ring in the regulator out of the box. In looking through Smart Parts' forums it looks like I'm not the only one with that problem. I had to send it in to have my board upgraded to the new select fire modes and had them fix the regulator while they were at it.
Holy cow I love this gun. Stock out of the box this thing is deadly accurate. I did add the double trigger to the SP-1 since I have big hands and wanted the option to walk the trigger.

BPS: At 11 balls per second, the other team thought I was using full-auto when I started walking the trigger. When I did use full auto or three round burst (with the ref's approval between rounds), the other team wanted to know where they could get one.

Paint Handling: I went through about 1500 Stinger paintballs and didn't break a single one.

Accuracy: I was using the stock barrel almost all day. (I tried out an Apex, but it's not for me...although it's a cool barrel) Even on full-auto, the SP-1 kept a tight grouping. This thing has virtually no kick, so I'm guessing that had a lot to do with it.

Intimidation: After a few rounds, the other team was more afraid of my SP-1 than any other gun on the field. It looks mean and sounds mean. I thought it was kind of funny that the kid with the tricked out Tippmann X7 didn't want to come up against my SP-1 with a stock 10" barrel.

Feel: I was using a massive 72ci tank on this thing, but I had no problems handling my SP-1...I just wished I'd have had a sling for between rounds. The SP-1 was really nice since it's fairly compact and I never had to worry about working in confined spaces.

As a side note, my wife used her Vibe for the first time and my little brother used it when she got tired. They both loved it as much as my SP-1.
